Después de una gran temporada de premios, los Oscar 2022 por fin llegaron y revelaron a las películas, actores y actrices que, de acuerdo con los miembros de la Academia, representan lo mejor del cine durante el 2021.
La edición de esta año de los Premios de la Academia hizo historia con algunos de sus nominados, además de que presentó el cambio de que algunas de las categorías no se presentaron en vivo, pero lo más importantes que nos hizo hablar sobre grandes películas, desde una japonesa basada en las obras de Haruki Murakami, hasta lo más reciente de Paul Thomas Anderson, Licorice Pizza, que es una oda al Los Ángeles de los años 70, o Belfast, la película que Kenneth Branagh creó inspirado en su propia infancia.
El Poder del Perro y Jane Campion eran los favoritos y se llevaron varios reconocimientos a lo largo de la temporada, junto con Troy Kotsur, de CODA, y Jessica Chastain, quienes fueron los grandes ganadores en diferentes premios, pero, al final, la Academia tuvo la última palabra y eligió a los ganadores por medio de una votación.
Algunos datos curiosos del Oscar 2022:
- Ariana Debose, de West Side Story, está nominada por el mismo personaje que le dio su Oscar a Rita Moreno en los años 60.
- Es el año de los remakes: Due, West Side Story, CODA y Nightmare Alley.
- Troy Kotsur es el segundo actor sordo en ganar un Oscar. Marlee Matlin, quien da vida a su esposa en CODA, fue la primera.
- La película CODA es la segunda ocasión en la que Troy Kotsur y Marlee Matlin dan vida a un matrimonio, la primera fue en CSI: NY.
- Juntos, el cast de Don’t Look Up tiene un total de 43 nominaciones.
- Belfast está inspirada en la infancia del director Kennetth Branagh.
- Drive My Car, inspirada en una historia de Haruki Murakami, es de las pocas películas extranjeras que también recibieron nominación como Mejor Película.
- Cooper Hoffman, de Licorice Pizza, es hijo del legendario Philip Seymour Hoffman.
- Nightmare Alley está basada en la novela de 1946 y es la segunda vez que se adapta al cine.
- Jane Campion es la única mujer que ha sido nominada dos veces como Mejor Director. Es su primera película en 12 años.
- Ni Will Smith, ni Andrew Garfield habían ganado un Oscar como Mejor actor, pero en el Oscar 2022 eran los favoritos.
- Hasta ahora, se pensaba que Dune (la novela) estaba maldita, lo que hacía que todas las adaptaciones fracasaran.
